Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2.25 pounds ground beef Juicy and hearty, this forms the base of your sauce.
  • 1 big block Velveeta cheese, cubed This melt-in-your-mouth cheese adds creaminess and flavor richness.
  • 1 8 oz block cream cheese, softened Provides smoothness and velvety texture to the sauce.
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup Imparts a comforting depth and helps create the sauce's body.
  • 1 can Rotel tomatoes with chilies, undrained Infuses a zesty kick and vibrant color to the dish.
  • 1 box bowtie noodles (farfalle) Their unique shape catches the creamy sauce perfectly.
  • 1 cup reserved pasta water Optional, reserved to thin the sauce.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Begin by cooking the bowtie pasta according to the package instructions. Aim for al dente for the best texture. Once done, drain and set aside, but be sure to reserve 1 cup of that precious pasta water.
  • While the pasta is cooking, grab a large skillet and set it over medium heat. Add the ground beef and begin browning it until it’s fully cooked, about 7-10 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
  • In the same skillet, introduce the softened cream cheese, cubed Velveeta cheese, cream of chicken soup, and Rotel tomatoes with the liquid. Stir diligently until the cheese melts into a smooth, creamy sauce.
  • If the sauce appears too thick, add the reserved pasta water gradually until the desired consistency is reached.
  • Toss in the cooked bowtie pasta, ensuring that every piece is coated in the creamy beef sauce. Stir until well combined and heated thoroughly.
  • Serve hot and enjoy this creamy, cheesy goodness!

Notes

Tips for success: Season your meat while cooking, monitor sauce thickness by adding reserved pasta water as needed, and cook over medium heat to prevent burning.
