Main Ingredients

  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts, about 1 1/2 lb (680 g) Tender and juicy, these chicken breasts form the foundation of your dish.
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika Adds a subtle smokiness that enhances the overall flavor profile.
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder Provides an aromatic kick.
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder Brings in a layer of savory sweetness.
  • 1 teaspoon fine salt Essential for enhancing all other flavors.
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper An aromatic spice that brings warmth.
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil Providing a healthy fat for cooking.
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter Creates a rich, creamy sauce.
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced Fills your kitchen with an inviting aroma.
  • 3/4 cup low-sodium chicken broth Creates a flavorful sauce without overwhelming saltiness.
  • 3 tablespoons honey Adds natural sweetness.
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice Bringing brightness.
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley, plus more for serving Elevates the dish with vibrant color.
  • Crushed red pepper flakes, optional For those who prefer a bit of heat.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Start by patting the chicken dry with paper towels to achieve a nice sear.
  • In a small bowl, mix together the smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, fine salt, and black pepper. Generously season both sides of the chicken breasts with this blend.

Cooking

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned chicken breasts and cook for about 5-6 minutes on each side until golden.
  • Transfer the chicken to a plate and reduce the heat to medium-low. Add butter to the skillet, stirring in minced garlic and cooking until fragrant.
  • Pour in the chicken broth, scraping up any browned bits. Whisk in honey and lemon juice, letting it simmer for about 2 minutes.
  • Return the chicken to the skillet, spooning sauce over it, and let everything simmer for another 4-6 minutes until the sauce thickens and the chicken is cooked through.
  • Stir in the chopped parsley and, if desired, add a pinch of crushed red pepper flakes.

Serving

  • Serve hot, with additional sauce spooned over the chicken.

Notes

Serve over fluffy rice or mashed potatoes, or pair with a crisp salad or steamed vegetables. It's ideal for family dinners, gatherings, or potlucks.
