Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Start by melting the butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  • Add the chopped onions and sliced mushrooms, sautéing until they are soft and fragrant—about 5 to 7 minutes.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, mayonnaise, Old Bay seasoning, salt, and pepper. Stir until smooth.
  • Gently fold in the crab meat and your choice of seafood along with the sautéed onions and mushrooms.

Assembly and Baking

  • Spread cooked rice or mashed potatoes evenly in a greased baking dish, then pour the creamy seafood mixture over the top.
  • Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese generously over the seafood mixture.
  • Preheat your oven to 375°F and bake for about 20–25 minutes, until bubbly and golden.
  • Let it cool for a few minutes, then sprinkle with chopped parsley and serve warm.

Notes

Avoid using overcooked seafood to prevent rubbery texture. Let the casserole rest after baking for the best serving experience.
