Ingredients
  

Pasta and Chicken

  • 12 oz bowtie (farfalle) pasta Butterfly-shaped pasta adds a fun texture.
  • 2 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts, sliced Juicy and tender, the star protein.

Vegetables

  • 2 cups broccoli florets Fresh and vibrant addition.

Sauce Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil Helps to brown the chicken.
  • Salt and black pepper to taste Essential seasonings.
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter Base for the butter sauce.
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced Adds aromatic flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard Provides subtle tang.
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika Adds smoky depth.
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes For a hint of heat.
  • Zest of 1 lemon Elevates freshness.
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice Balances richness of the sauce.
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley Adds color and freshness.
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves Offers another layer of flavor.

Instructions
 

Cooking the Pasta

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the bowtie pasta according to the package instructions until al dente.
  • In the last 3 minutes of cooking, toss in the broccoli florets. Drain the pasta and broccoli and set aside.

Cooking the Chicken

  • Season the sliced chicken with salt, black pepper, and smoked paprika.
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the chicken for about 5-6 minutes until golden-brown and cooked through. Remove and set aside.

Making the Sauce

  • In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and melt the unsalted butter. Add minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Whisk in Dijon mustard, red pepper flakes, lemon zest, lemon juice, chopped parsley, and thyme. Simmer for 1-2 minutes.

Combining Ingredients

  • Return the chicken to the skillet and toss it in the sauce. Add the drained pasta and broccoli, mixing until well coated and heated through.
  • Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese on top and serve immediately.

Notes

For a healthier version, substitute whole wheat pasta or Greek yogurt for part of the butter. Can also add more vegetables like spinach or bell peppers.
