Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large pot, cook the elbow macaroni according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat, then sauté the chopped onion and minced garlic for 3-4 minutes until translucent.

Cooking

  • Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spoon as it cooks. Stir until browned and cooked through.
  • Season the beef with salt, pepper, and dried Italian seasoning.
  • Pour in the condensed cream of mushroom soup and milk. Stir until well combined and allow to bubble for about 5 minutes.
  • Mix in the cooked elbow macaroni until well coated, then transfer the mixture to a baking dish.
  • Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese generously over the top.
  • Bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes, or until cheese is melted, bubbly, and slightly golden.
  • Prepare garlic bread while the casserole is baking.
  • Remove from oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
