For the blackberry sauce

  • 2 cups fresh or frozen blackberries Succulent and bursting with flavor.

For the oats mixture

  • 1 tablespoon hemp hearts Contributes a nutty flavor.
  • 2 teaspoons maple syrup Extra sweetness.
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract Enhances overall flavor.
  • 1/8 teaspoon fine salt Nuanced seasoning.
  • 1/4 cup mini dairy-free dark chocolate chips Adds a delightful surprise.

For garnishing

  • 1/2 cup fresh blackberries For garnishing and added freshness.

Instructions
 

Prepare the blackberry sauce

  • In a small saucepan over medium-low heat, combine the blackberries, maple syrup, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt. Stir occasionally, crushing the berries gently for 6-8 minutes.
  • Once the sauce thickens and becomes fragrant, set it aside to cool completely.

Prepare the oats mixture

  • In a large bowl or jar, stir together rolled oats, almond milk, chia seeds, hemp hearts, 2 teaspoons of maple syrup, vanilla extract, an additional pinch of salt, and mini chocolate chips until well combined.

Refrigerate and serve

  • Cover the bowl or jar and refrigerate the oat mixture for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
  • When ready to serve, layer chilled oat mixture over cooled blackberry sauce in jars or bowls.
  • Garnish with fresh blackberries and sprinkle extra chocolate chips on top. Add a splash of almond milk before eating if desired.

Notes

Use ripe blackberries for the best flavor. Store oats in airtight containers for freshness.
