Ingredients

For the Sliders

  • 1 package Hawaiian sweet rolls, soft and sweet, perfect for holding all the ingredients 12 count
  • 1 lb thinly sliced deli roast beef, tender and full of flavor
  • 8 slices provolone cheese, creamy and melty for that perfect gooey texture
  • 1 large yellow onion, thinly sliced, fragrant and sweet when caramelized
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided, for rich flavor and golden brown tops
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced, aromatic to enhance the flavor
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce, adding depth and umami
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme, for a herby touch
  • to taste Salt and black pepper

For the Au Jus

  • 1 1/2 cups low-sodium beef broth, rich and savory for dipping
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce, to be used in the broth for extra flavor
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme, seasoning the broth perfectly
  • to taste Salt to enhance the overall flavors

Instructions

Preparation

  • Melt 1 tablespoon of butter in a skillet over medium-low heat. Add the sliced onion and cook, stirring occasionally, for 12-15 minutes until soft and golden. Season lightly with salt and pepper.
  • In a small saucepan, simmer the beef broth, 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce, and thyme for about 5 minutes. Keep warm on low heat.
  • Slice the entire tray of rolls in half horizontally without separating the individual rolls. Layer the bottom half generously with roast beef, provolone cheese, and the caramelized onions. Replace the top half of the rolls.
  • In a separate small bowl, melt the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter with the minced garlic. Brush this mixture generously over the roll tops.

Cooking

  • Cover the entire slider tray with foil and bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 10 minutes. Uncover and bake for an additional 5 minutes, until golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Cut the sliders into individual portions and serve warm with the savory au jus for dipping.

Notes

For best results, ensure all ingredients are at room temperature before assembling. Avoid overcooking the onions for the perfect caramelization.
