Instructions
Preparation
- Preheat your oven according to the cake mix instructions. Grease and flour your cake pans (three 8-inch rounds or two 9-inch rounds).
- In a large bowl, mix the cake mix, oil, water, eggs, and instant chocolate pudding using an electric mixer until smooth.
- Divide the batter equally between prepared cake pans and bake according to cake mix instructions or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let the cakes cool completely.
Making the Filling
- In a separate bowl, mix the creamy peanut butter, powdered sugar, and melted butter until light and fluffy.
Assembly
- Spread the peanut butter filling between the layers of cooled cakes.
Making Ganache
- Heat heavy cream in a saucepan until it simmers, then pour it over the chocolate chips and whisk until smooth.
- Pour ganache over the assembled cake and top with mini Reese's peanut butter cups.
Setting
