Preparation

  • Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté for 3-4 minutes until the onion becomes translucent.
  • Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon. Cook for 7-8 minutes until browned.
  • Sprinkle in the paprika, salt, black pepper, and dried thyme. Stir to combine.
  • Add the shredded cabbage to the skillet, mixing thoroughly with the beef.
  • Pour in the beef broth (or water) and cover the skillet. Cook for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Once the cabbage is tender, taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.
  • Garnish with freshly chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

Serve it with steamed rice, quinoa, or for a low-carb version, try cauliflower rice or lettuce wraps. This dish is great for meal prep and can be stored for several days.
