Instructions

Preparation

  • Take the ribeye steaks out of the refrigerator about 30 minutes before cooking to let them come to room temperature.
  • Generously season both sides with salt and pepper.

Cooking the Steaks

  • Heat the olive oil in a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add the seasoned steaks to the skillet, searing for 3-4 minutes on each side until a brown crust forms.
  • Lower the heat, introduce the butter, smashed garlic, and optional herbs. Baste the steaks with the melted butter to infuse rich flavors.
  • Cook until desired doneness, about 3 more minutes for medium-rare. Remove the steaks and let them rest.

Making the Sauce

  • Carefully pour in the halal alternative to bourbon into the same skillet and let it simmer for 1-2 minutes, scraping up the browned bits.
  • Add the minced garlic and 1 tablespoon of butter. Cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Stir in the heavy cream, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and cayenne pepper. Cook for 3-4 minutes until slightly thickened.
  • Reduce heat and add the grated Parmesan cheese, stirring until melted and combined.

Serving

  • Plate the resting steaks and generously spoon the creamy bourbon garlic sauce over the top.
  • Garnish with freshly chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

For best results, allow steaks to rest after cooking, and consider serving with garlic mashed potatoes or a fresh garden salad. Watch sauce closely to avoid over-thickening.
