Preparation

  • In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, water, honey, brown sugar, rice vinegar, sesame oil, cornstarch, garlic, and ginger until the cornstarch is fully dissolved.
  • Gather all ingredients and prep vegetables ahead of time.

Cooking

  • Heat neutral oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once sizzling, add ground turkey, breaking it into small crumbles as it cooks for 5-6 minutes until no longer pink.
  • Add onion, carrot, red bell pepper, water chestnuts, and black pepper. Stir frequently for 3-4 minutes until the onion softens.
  • Give the sauce a quick stir, then pour it into the skillet. Simmer for 2-3 minutes while stirring until the sauce thickens.
  • Taste the filling, adding a pinch of salt if needed.

Serving

  • Spoon the turkey mixture into lettuce leaves, topping with green onions and sesame seeds. Optionally, add jasmine rice and sriracha.
